Recently, I had the pleasure of attending an exciting evening of recovery talk and fellowship with recovery advocate, author, and actor Christopher Kennedy Lawford, at the offices of the Caron Treatment Center. While I could never capture Christopher's charisma, I did enjoy sketching his amazing story.
Christopher Kennedy Lawford is an activist, actor, speaker and author of three New York Times best-selling books. In recovery for more than 29 years from drug addiction, Mr. Lawford campaigns tirelessly on behalf of the recovery community in both the public and private sectors.

USAID friends and colleagues wished Admiral Tim Ziemer farewell at a special event last week. To commemorate his steadfast leadership, Admiral Ziemer received (among a handful of gifts) a special book of memories and well wishes. I was honored to be asked to do the design for the cover!
I had the honor of live sketchnoting for USAID's Population and Reproductive Health Partner's Meeting. This is a great group of motivated people and it was a pleasure to work with them. I even learned new things! A couple of the final sketches are included below (the rest are posted on my website); plus, click on the link for a brief summary of the meeting (including a sneak peek of my drawings) done by the PRH team.

USAID'S OFFICE OF HEALTH SYSTEM'S WEBSITE GETS A MAKE-OVER
Earlier this fall, OHS management asked me to help with the office's website re-design. This is the first time Agency has gone the route of drawn icons and I am thrilled with the results! While the limitation on colors (only USAID-branded colors) did prove somewhat of a constraint, I had a lot of fun graphically representing our important work. Check it out: https://www.usaid.gov/what-we-do/global-health/health-systems-strengthening
USAID's Bureau of Global Health's Office of Health Sysytems (OHS) said goodbye today to long-time colleague Adam Slote. As a parting gift, I illustrated Adam's contributions to OHS and health systems strengthening. The final graphic was placed in a frame and colleagues signed the border. Best of luck Adam!
After 5 years of dedicated service, Ariel Pablos-Mendez left the Bureau for Global Health. In his honor, Bureau held a going away party and presented him with various parting gifts. The main gift was a book of photos, memories, and signatures from colleagues across USAID.
I was honored to be asked to design the cover of the book. Snap shots of the front and back posted here.
USAID AND HEALTH FINANCING: A VISUAL INTERVIEW WITH ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATOR ARIEL PABLOS-MÉNDEZ
On November 2, I had the priviledge of visually recording an interview with the Assistant Administrator of the Bureau for Global Health (USAID) on innovative approaches to health financing. Take a look at the graphic and the post, availalble on the USAID/GH webiste, here: https://www.usaid.gov/what-we-do/global-health/cross-cutting-areas/usaid-and-health-financing-visual-interview-assistant
After returning from USAID's State of the Art (SOTA) training in Cambodia, my supportive colleagues found a place for my session sketches so the rest of the Bureau for Global Health could enjoy! I'm tickled they wanted to post the "minutes" of each plenary session and love watching passer-bys stop and digest the material. Stay tuned to see how the wall grows!
